Sun International's employees rolled up their sleeves to volunteer and make a lasting impact. Together, they created 50 mobile gardens and packed 120 Jars of Hope, to impact over 450 lives in the process. These mobile gardens were donated to Tiisetso ECD in South Hills to offer children the chance to understand where their food comes from and how to nurture it. What may seem like a small act—creating gardens and packing jars of hope—actually means so much more.
According to the principal of the ECD centre, “Our children will now be enabled to learn about planting, where our food comes from, and how to take care of a garden. They will know more about agriculture at an early age.”
Packing events like these aren’t just about the finished product—they’re about the impact that each jar and garden carries. They offer tangible support and create a ripple effect of positive change in communities.

Vodacom: Festival of Giving, a special initiative where Vodacom employees nationwide come together to give back throughout the entire month in honour of Mandela Month.
It was an immensely successful month, one that showcases the commitment of South African firms to transforming the country and inspiring volunteerism. This is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg when it comes to the initiative and commitment of local companies and their employees, and we expect to see these numbers go even higher in 2025!
