On 14 March 2024, forgood hosted their annual Client Council event at the historic Emoyeni in Parktown, Johannesburg.

Clients and industry colleagues alike came together to celebrate each other and their work over the last year, reflecting on successes from the past year as well as what's ahead.

forgood took the opportunity to share more about their four exciting long-term programmes, which give clients the opportunity to invest in programmes that have a long-term, sustainable footprint and includes volunteers all year round. A win-win for long term impact and corporate volunteers alike!

Top 4 highlights

1. forgood keeps innovating! We introduced our AI Chatbot, group volunteering feature and soon to be live Impact Report!

2.Only the youth can save us. IDC and Momentum Metropolitan shared their views on how career days can be re-imagined to attract talent and provide relevance, resulting in actual, tangible impact. Nkosinathi Mahlangu from Momentum Metropolitan Holdings shared more about their dream to thrive career day, which has seen 28 young people hired as full-time employees. Luana Malan shared her biggest insight, saying that post IDCs Career Day, the students could see themselves in the employees!

3. Collaboration is key. We have seen the sustainable impact that can be made when great minds and resources come together. You can learn more about forgood's long-term programme portfolio HERE.

4. Employee Volunteering Programmes are a beacon of pride. Cathy Duff from Trialogue shared insights into their latest annual report, with findings such as 83% of volunteers said that their company's commitment to the community made them proud to work there as well as 45% of survey respondents said they considered the company's Employee Volunteering Programme before joining.

REGISTRATIONS

Category A (1 - 999 employees)

Registrations refer to how many employees have registered to the Employee Volunteering platform.

Runner up: Runner up Redefine – 144 registrations
Winner: IDC – 554 registrations

Insight: IDC achieved an incredible 554 registrations in 2023 from an employee base of 760.

Category B (1000 - 9999 employees)

Runner up: African Bank – 640 registrations
Winner: Vodacom - 1 058 registrations

Insight: Vodacom's regional Champions help them achieve this amazing number of registrations.

Category C (10 000+ employees)

Runner up: Standard Bank – 1 660 registrations
Winner: Sanlam – 1 721 registrations

Insight: Sanlam's implementation of SSO (Single Sign On) was instrumental in their success.

Vodacom's Nerys Harper collects the award on behalf of Vodacom for top registrations in Category B

CONNECTIONS

Category A (1 - 999 employees)

Connections refer to how many activities (volunteer time and skills, donate money and goods, offers created or event attendance).

Runner up: IDC – 346 connections
Winner: Redefine – 419 connections

Insight: Redefine incorporated team building activities with CSI to achieve the winning spot.

Category B (1000 - 999 employees)

Runner up: African Bank – 2 487 connections
Winner: Vodacom – 3 197 connections

Insight: Vodacom held multiple regional activations with the support of Champions.

Category C (10 000+ employees)

Runner up: Sanlam – 1 030 connections
Winner: Standard Bank – 2 505 connections

Insight: Standard Bank consistently ran a diverse range of events throughout the year with the support of internal communications, which kept employees coming back for more.

Standard Bank's Nkateko Mabale collects the Award for top registrations in Category C

UNIQUE PARTICIPATION

Unique Participation refers to how many individual employees took a unique volunteering action.

Runner up: Alex Forbes, 44%
Winner: African Bank with a 45%

Insight: African Bank achieved the top award and they clocked in an impressive 8 638 volunteer hours for their 2023 financial year!
