Beyoncé and JAY-Z are headlining the #GlobalCitizensFestival!

The capstone celebration of Nelson Mandela’s centennial, honouring his life and his legacy, is bringing together some of the world’s most famous music artists, corporate and global leaders on 2 December at FNB Stadium at this years Global Citizens Festival. In the largest campaign addressing Global Goals to end extreme poverty, 100,000 Global Citizens who’ve taken social advocacy action on the Global Citizen platform will be invited to see performances by the Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Cassper Nyovest, D'banj, Ed Sheeran, Eddie Vedder, Femi Kuti, Pharrell Williams & Chris Martin, Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage, Usher, Wizkid and more! Hosted by Oprah, Naomi Campbell, Bonang Matheba, Sir Bob Geldof, Gayle King, Tyler Perry and Forest Whitaker, the celebration aims to raise $1 billion in new commitments with a focus on impacting the lives of 20 million women and girls worldwide using half their raisings.

“Nelson Mandela's life story is a testament to the power of the human spirit and one man's ability to change the world by standing up for what he believed in,” said Oprah Winfrey, who will speak at the festival. “It is one of the great honours of my life to have spent so much time with him, and I look forward to celebrating his courageous life.”

What must I do to get tickets?

1. Sign up on their platforms: GlobalCitizen.org.za, the Global Citizen app, or by searching “Global Citizen” in Facebook Messenger.
2. Once signed up, you'll get an email where you can click the "Get Started" button. Here, you can choose the activist issues that interest you!
3. After logging your activist interests, confirm your email by clicking "Take Action" which, as you could have guessed, takes you to a page where you'll find loads of Opportunities to do so. Activists can tweet, petition, call, email or volunteer in their communities for points!
4. Use those points that you've earned to redeem a ticket to the show. It's unknown as to how many points you'll need to be at this epic performance, but the sooner you start, the better your chances are.
5. Check your email regularly. Global Citizen will be giving early-birds bonus opportunities to earn points!

Mohammed, Norway’s Prime Minister Erna Solberg and Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo, who both serve as co-chairs of the UN Secretary General’s Advocacy Group for the Sustainable Development Goals, President Mokgweetsi Masisi of Botswana, Director-General of the World Health Organization Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, President of the UN International Fund for Agricultural Development Gilbert F.
