Eduplex is a mainstream school where a small number of deaf children are included in each class. This provide them with the unique opportunity to learn alongside their normal hearing classmates, without using sign language, but by means of intensive therapy, acquire spoken language. Currently Eduplex has more than 800 children of whom 81 are deaf. 50% of the deaf children come from impoverished homes and are dependent on bursaries. You can help us to make a difference by providing bursaries to learners who cannot pay for their tuition and other fees. While Eduplex continuously sets new standards in inclusive education, the Foundation for Children with Hearing Loss in SA addresses poverty by financially supporting deaf children coming from rural areas and poor backgrounds to attend this school and have the only chance to receive mainstream, inclusive education.
