Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

The Chasmay Campus is home to Masicorp as well as 18 other non-profit organisations all also working in the field of education, training and skills development for the communities of Masiphumelele and Ocean View. There is a pre-school, a soccer academy for high schoolers, computer training and sewing centres, and many other organisations working with youth and the elderly. There are also many after-school programmes running here, for at-risk youth from these two communities. Over the years, most of the grass had been lost during Cape Town's drought, and recent construction repairs by the City of Cape Town had left the campus in a dry and barren state. At the beginning of 2021, a section of the dusty and bare grounds was upgraded through kind donations from local landscapers and generous residents from surrounding communities. Donated fynbos cuttings, plants and trees were planted. The planting of these water-wise plants has been done with water-saving in mind, to keep maintenance costs low. We would like to be able to further equip the garden with some picnic tables/chairs and benches for the children and adults who visit the campus to enjoy. The campus is already a hive of activity - we hope that these improvements to the grounds will make the campus an even more welcoming space for those who visit.
