Help Johannesburg Dream Center NPC with 5 volunteers for facilitating sewing free sewing classes for women

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

We are looking for experienced or skilled seamstress to volunteer their time facilitating our sewing course. The course is offered for free to underprivileged, unemployed women as a way to upskill them and better their chances at employment of fending for themselves. The course runs once or twice a week for 3 - 4 hour sessions for 6 -8 weeks. It is presented to a group of 6 -8 women at a time. We have an existing course but we are open to suggestions. Interested volunteers should have experience sewing on different brand machines, including the over-locker. Skilled seamstress who know can pass on the skills.

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
