This is part of a multi-phased project to convert the old diner into a functional kitchen and, eventually, a training restaurant and community café. In this first phase, the space will support VUSA’s afterschool feeding programme, ensuring each of our children receives a hot, nutritious meal every day. As the project grows, the kitchen will also serve as a skills development site and income-generating café that sources fresh produce from local city farmers. We’re currently seeking commercial kitchen equipment — including ovens, fridges, and a dishwasher — as well as café tables and chairs to help us bring this vision to life.
