Help Sinosizo Siyaphambili by donating a kitchen base cupboard with counter for grocery storage and meal prep for our centre
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Our ECD and aftercare centre in KwaMashu runs a daily feeding program that provides nutritious meals to vulnerable children and youth, many of whom rely on us for their only meal of the day. Currently, we do not have a proper storage unit for groceries. Items like rice, maize meal, tins, and fresh produce are kept on the floor or in open boxes, which is not hygienic or practical. We are in urgent need of a sturdy kitchen base cupboard with a countertop to store food supplies properly and keep the space clean and organized. This cupboard will serve two important purposes: it will allow us to safely store dry groceries and kitchen items, and the countertop will provide a much-needed working surface for our staff who prepare and serve the meals. Having a functional cupboard will improve food safety, make daily operations easier, and help maintain the dignity of both the staff and the children. If you have a cupboard in good condition or would like to sponsor one, your support will have a direct and meaningful impact on the wellbeing of our children and the smooth running of our program. Thank you.
Helpful tips
Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
- 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
