The Eastern Province Child and Youth Care Centre

Our Centre takes care of 78 vulnerable children between the ages of 4-18 years, placed in our care by the Children's Court with a 2 year court order. Children are cared for by child and youth care workers and stay in 7 cottages. Programmes include residential care, therapy, health care, recreation and developmental programmes, education and tutoring, and sport. Children visit their families during certain week-end s and holidays with the aim to strengthen relationships resulting in children being reunited with their families. We make use of volunteers including helping with homework, playing sport, reading to children, collection goods in kind e.g. food, arranging fun days/outings, assisting with our dance group, painting of cottages, beautifying our gardens etc. We have various fundraising activities including in-kind collections, proposal writing, debit order projects etc. Businesses receives a tax certificate and also B-BBEE recognition for any support provided to our Centre.
