Thabang Children's Project

Thabang Child and Youth Care Centre provides a Safe House for children in need of full time care and protection according to the Children's Act 38/2005. Children that are neglected, abused, abandoned, etc. is placed in our care through a court order. The Thabang Children's Project also provides a Drop in Centre for the needy children of the informal settlement of Smasher Block in Limpopo Province. The Drop in Centre gives after school care and extra support for vulnerable youth that are identified through social workers. We provide different programs to develop the children holistically. We run skills development programs focusing on teaching the children needle work, wood work, leather work, cooking, computer skills, communication skills and various other skills that could be used to create jobs when they leave the centre.
