Breaking the Silence 2015
Thank you to all the Kimberlite's that had Kimberley hooting for three hours! You rock! Thank you Zoe, Famsa Kimberley, Deon, JayJay, Kate and Etienne, CC Riders. You were all awesome.
Optimystic Bikers against Abuse organised a Silent Protest against Abuse on 8 August 2015 with the goal of raising awareness around issues of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse in our community. FAMSA Kimberley, CC Riders and independent bikers joined in this event where motorists were asked to hoot if they were against abuse. St Cyprian's students provided to of the posters that were used. Protestors gathered at the intersection of McDougal and Memorial Road where they stood in protest for an hour, they then moved to the intersection of Bultfontein and Long Street for another hour and lastly relocated to the corner of Phakamile Mabija and Cecil Sussman Street where they spent the last hour. Each and every motorist that had Kimberley hooting for three hours on a busy Saturday morning added there voice to the call for an end to these abuses. All the participants felt that the protest was a great success and Optimystic Bikers against Abuse would like to thank everyone who assisted and participated in the day.
