Behind Closed Doors - Understanding Domestic Violence

The seminar was dynamic and participation was really rewarding. Myths surrounding domestic violence were tackled and from feedback from participants we are happy to say that everyone felt it was worthwhile. Networking with other organisations is one of our highest priorities and time spent with Activate! was fantastic. Unfortunately, there were very few participants and the question this raised was how we can take this programme further into communities to increase awareness and understanding around these issues. As an organisation we feel that low attendance highlights the fact that people are still afraid to openly discuss these issues, and renews our commitment to break the silence, the shame and the fear surrounding disclosing domestic violence which is still very prevalent in our communities.
