Help Tree In Land by Treeinland for Pupils and communities
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Green Legacy is a project that aids environmental education in primary schools, focusing on incorporating practical tree growing and management for each pupil of a given grade (class). From this teachers award pupils for part of their environmental marks based on the growth and management of trees during their primary education lifetime. The project has been consultatively researched and derived from our famous programme, Technique for Reforestation and Educational Extension (TREE). The actors are Treeinland-Kenya, primary schools, adjacent communities, the government of Kenya, and donors. We are aware that the pupils are mindfully trainable at this stage of their lives. Our aim is to help pupils get involved in reforestation at the school level and leave behind a green mark when they graduate, thus leaving 0722130behind a green legacy. We hope that if these pupils grow up with this tree-growing culture, then we will have more adults to inspire future generations. Imagine the milestones accumulated, say one pupil can grow and manage only three trees per year in a school; what about the entire class?, the entire school?, and all the schools in an area? In reference to the anonymous and famous African paraphrased proverb that says " A tree is straightened while still tender", is what we associate with the project and is why we are focusing on mentoring and pacesetting future adults at their young age. We believe that this project not only promotes the desired socio-cultural norm among younger generations but is also timely and well-thought out. Therefore, proving us right once more in our desire and hope to restore the already deteriorating forests. As Treeinland-Kenya, we are keen to ensure that these pupils inherit a liveable planet that is nearly restored, but this can be most clearly witnessed when many organizations are applying different but complementary approaches to the Kenyan vision of planting 5 billion trees by 2027.
