Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Gwatyu farms is a sparsely populated farming community of former farm workers in Chris Hani District in the Eastern Cape province whose dwellers survive on social grants, subsistence farming and remittances from migrant workers. Chris Hani District Municipality is faced with various socio-economic challenges compounded by a growing rate of unemployment and poverty resulting from lack of access to education amongst other factors. Unlike other rural communities in this region which are densely populated, Gwatyu farms by virtue of being farms it becomes more costly for the government to address its needs leaving the community suffering because water is a basic source of life. The absence of water limits the ability to farm both crops and livestock. In addition, this also impacts on sanitary conditions of the community and schools leaving it vulnerable to infections diseases.
