Beaulah Land Primary School 14 Geldenhuis Road Malvern East Johannesburg, 1401 29 march 2021 Re: Request for monetary Donations for Beaulah Land Primary School I am writing to request for monetary donations for Beaulah Land Primary School, a new school that was opened in January 2018 in Malvern East, Johannesburg. The mission of the school is to provide children in the neighbourhood with a moral compass based on Christian teachings. The school is trying to fight the drug problem in the area by teaching children good character and values, as well as providing quality education to every child regardless of race, nationality, or socio-economic status. Beaulah Land Primary School is located in Malvern East, a poor neighbourhood of Johannesburg where some children have difficulty finding a school to enrol in. The community has welcomed the school, whose opening has been met with great enthusiasm. Current enrolment is slightly less than 100 students from Grade ECD to Grade 7. There are four teachers, including the principal. Adequate resources, including nutrition, are important for children to be learning ready – hungry children do not learn much. Unfortunately, most of our learners cannot afford to pay the school fees and also come to school hungry, making it difficult for them to concentrate on what they are being taught. The inability to pay school fees also limits the school’s resources and thus its ability to function well and deliver quality education to our learners. In response, the school is looking for monetary donations to supplement the school fees so as to adequately cover its operational expenses, as well as implement a nutritional programme.
