Help Gift of the Givers Foundation raise R200,000 for improving ablution facilities in schools
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
According to the South African Human Rights Commission, more than one million learners and teachers are affected by the challenges of poor sanitation in schools. The elimination of pit toilets in public schools has been an ongoing battle. The Gift of the Givers Ablution Facility Project was implemented to address critical sanitation and safety challenges faced by many rural schools as they face severe shortages of proper functional toilets. The lack of proper infrastructure contributes towards health issues, absenteeism, discomfort and forces the students and educators to use unsafe and unhygienic alternatives. The Ablution Facility Project’s Containerized Ablution Units are each equipped with six toilets plus two hand basins. Gift of the Givers also oversees the construction of a septic tank and soak away systems as well as laying the foundation for the containerized units and water tanks. The Gift of the Givers’ Ablution Facilities Project is more than just an infrastructure upgrade, it is a vital investment in the dignity, health, and future for all students in underserved communities. This initiative is already making a tangible difference, but there is still much work to be done. You can be a part of this essential project by donating to this cause and ensuring that more children have access to safe and hygienic ablution facilities.
