Help Africa Food for Thought by donating toiletries for children in our families programme

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Africa Food for Thought is a registered non-profit organisation providing food security to children in need across the West Rand of Johannesburg, South Africa. We work with schools, preschools, community projects and individual families to give children hope and a brighter future. Our families programme serves needy families caring for orphaned or vulnerable children. It is difficult for these families to meet their children's needs, including for simple things like soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Please consider adding these items to your next shopping trip and donating them to our programme. Items can be dropped off at our offices at 106 Mimosa Street, Helderkruin, during business hours. We are open from Monday to Friday, 7:30 - 15:30. We are only able to collect large donations (more than 50 items) - consider running a drive at your office!

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
