Literacy NGO READ to RISE launches new OAKY Puppet Show at public libraries during school holidays to get children excited about reading.
During the school holidays in March 2019, READ to RISE launched its new OAKY Puppet Show at public libraries in Cape Town. Thank you to The SALI Trust and Athol Williams for sponsoring this programme at 25 libraries in 2019. Each library will receive a set of 8 OAKY books for children to borrow. The OAKY books are written by South African poet Athol Williams and each story has a positive life lesson.
