Dream Room Activity

Dream Room Activities St Dustan's College

St Dustan’s college arrived on a bus with 45 eager students wanting to spend time with the Children in the hospital. It was a big group, we decided to break the 45 into 3 groups of 15 students. The students managed to spend 1 hour with the children inside the dream rooms doing colouring, reading, games and Arts & Crafts. At first the children seemed a bit overwhelmed and shy but as the students started speaking to them, they opened up and started interacting with them. There were children that couldn’t come out of their beds inside the Oncology ward- we set up 2 students per patient to sit and do an activity with them at their bedside- This was very special. The day was really beautiful, and the students felt good after their sessions interacting with the children, some students were very emotional and taken a back at how sick these children really are, a group of young grade 8’s expressed that they felt very grateful to be able to see the reality of what it's like in a government hospital. We all gathered in front of the clinic to take a group picture and we got a lot of thanks from the students and teachers.
