The Imbeleko Foundation, established in 2010 by Sbusisiwe 'S’bu' Myeni and her late twin sister, Dr. Seni Myeni, is based in the Valley of 1000 Hills in KwaNyuswa, South Africa. This area, marked by a complex socio-economic history, suffers from poverty, high unemployment, and health crises like HIV/AIDS. Local communities face systemic social inequality and under-development, trapping many youth in a cycle of poverty. Imbeleko Foundation aims to break this cycle by empowering children and youth in these rural communities. Despite only 60% of students reaching Matric, and just 12% accessing university education, with 10% graduating, Imbeleko Foundation is committed to changing these outcomes. Our mission is to offer a comprehensive support system through an integrated approach to education, mentoring, and social support.
