Help United Way South Africa by Donating Funds to UWSA Covid-19 Relief Fund for Food, Cleaning Materials & Medical Supplies 4 Homeless.
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Support South Africans struggling in the wake of COVID-19. In times of past crisis, we’ve always risen to the challenges as a nation. We are again facing such a crisis, and while we worry about our own futures, we must not forget the people in our community who are already struggling with the financial effects of COVID-19: such as vulnerable people who do not have homes and live in the streets. Without decisive action, the number of people infected will rapidly increase from a few hundred to tens of thousands, and within a few weeks to hundreds of thousands. This is extremely scary for a population like South Africa, with a large number of people with suppressed immunity because of HIV and TB, and high levels of poverty and malnutrition. United Way South Africa (UWSA) is working together with the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) to raise funds in order to provide food, hygiene products and medical supplies to 1500 homeless people. The City of Johannesburg has already organised a Shelter in Johannesburg where these people are kept. We ask you now to step up, to embody the community spirit manifest in this country. In a time of uncertainty, a gift to the UWSA COVID-19 Fund is a gift of hope. Give now! Helpful tips
Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.

- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.

- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
