Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

The Love Trust is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through education. Founded in 2009, we are a South African charitable not for profit organisation (NPO) with a vision to nurture future generations of servant leaders by providing quality values-based education to vulnerable children. Our focus is on providing quality values-based education and social care to vulnerable children at our Nokuphila School in Thembisa, Midrand. Quality, values-based education is an instrument to give children hope and the right foundation to have a future free of poverty and a more equal society. Our flagship programme, Nokuphila School, meaning “Place of Life” started with only 45 learners in Grade 000 and Grade 00. Since then, the school has grown by two classes every year and currently offers quality education to 394 learners, from Grades 000 to Grade 8. Six grade 7 groups (2018 – 2023) have graduated from Nokuphila School since its inception. We transport our learners to and from school every day, provide nutritious meals as well as excellent education and psychosocial support. Nokuphila School provides a nutrition programme that supports children’s ability to learn. More than 9.6 million children in South Africa depend on the Department of Education’s school nutrition programme and our children at Nokuphila are no different because for many of them, the meals they are fed at school, is the only meal they may eat all day. Our nutrition programme not only provides nutrition for the learners, but also encourages them to attend and stay in school. It allows children to focus on learning rather than their stomachs and helps to increase school attendance and improve cognitive abilities. We understand that a hungry child cannot learn, and we also ensure that the meals are assessed regularly for nutritional value and portion size. We are in need of 200 plastic bowls and spoons so that we may continue to provide nutritious meals to our learners. Kindly email Amo at amo@lovetrust.co.za or Naleli at nalelim@lovetrust.co.za. Thank you.
