Singakwenza exists to address the impact on young children of poor access to quality Early Childhood Development (ECD) in economically disadvantaged communities. We educate, empower and support practitioners, parents and caregivers to create a safe, loving and stimulating environment which enables their children to develop resilience, learn through play and reach their full potential. Singakwenza trains under-qualified practitioners on-site at their crèches, teaching them to provide fun purposeful play opportunities that enable their pupils to develop critical foundational skills, using resources they make themselves from household packaging. Our Occupational Therapy program ensures that no child is disadvantaged by developmental delays, and our Basic Bookkeeping training helps each crèche to become a sustainable small business.
