On Mandela Day, Thursday 18 July 2019 – thousands of Virtual Santa Shoeboxes will be packed at Canal Walk Shopping Centre’s center court in Cape Town. Come and join us in celebration as we honor Madiba’s desire to unite all South African’s to do good. Simply choose a 67-minute slot between 9:00 – 18:00 and fill your heart with joy and community spirit by helping us pack thousands of Virtual Santa Shoeboxes in preparation for our 2019 campaign which will see these boxes distributed to profoundly underprivileged children in rural areas across South Africa. 09:00 - 10:07 10:30 - 11:37 12:00 - 13:07 13:30 - 14:37 15:00 - 16:07 16:30 - 17:37 WHAT WILL YOU DO DURING YOUR 67-MINUTES? 1. Arrive 15-minutes before your allotted shift to register 2. Assemble flat-packed Shoeboxes 3. Fill the Shoebox with LOVE and all 8 required components (plus a few extra treats) 4. Write a note to the child and include a photo of yourself (optional and MUCH loved!) 5. Tag the box by age and gender 6. Pack the Shoeboxes into cartons en route to the children 7. REPEAT! 8. Snap a photo of yourself or your team in front of StorAge Shoebox Christmas Tree Want to volunteer as a group or company? Wonderful! We would love to have you join us in your branded company regalia. Simply email us on mandeladay@santashoebox.org.za so we can arrange a set of team packing tables for you. WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME? The cost to participate on the day is your time. If in addition, you would like to purchase a Virtual Santa Shoebox you can do so below. All Virtual Santa Shoeboxes are allocated to profoundly underprivileged children living in far-flung rural communities with little or no access to support of any kind and you can buy them for only R400.00 each.
