Spinal Cord Injuries Association of Nigeria, SCIAN

SCIAN was established in 1984 by spinal cord injured persons to support Nigerians who suffer injuries to their spinal cord either through traumatic experiences or diseases. We have chapters in all the states of the federation. We provide assistive mobility aids to our members and advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities in accordance with the UNCRPD and the national disability law. We encourage skill acquisition and gainful employment. We plan to have a Rehabilitation facility to holistically address the physical, mental and psychosocial health issues that follow traumatic injuries to the spine.
