Anisa Sickle Cell Foundation (ASCF)

With Nigeria being the country having the highest rate of sickle cell disease in the world, ASCF was established as not-for-profit organization focused on promoting sickle cell awareness to the general public especially populations living in underserved communities with little or no access to basic amenities of life. We also aim to serve as a psychosocial support for individuals living with sickle cell disease (SCD) as it isn't just a health condition that affects the physical well-being but also their social, emotional and mental health. To further buttress our impact, we aim to advocate for the enaction of inclusive policies at local and national tiers of government in Nigeria. With all this mission in mind, we hope to see the rise in sickle-cell free-generation in the future generations, ultimately flattening the curve in the prevalence of SCD in Nigeria.
