Help ELRU (Early Learning Resource Unit) by giving beanbags, balls, crayons, dolls and playdough for children ages 0-2 years

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

ELRU needs educational toys and resources that are suitable for infants and young children age 0-2, which will engage their senses and spark imaginations. Most parents cannot afford to buy toys (households are extremely under-resourced) while many are unaware of the value of early learning and stimulation from such a young age. We need: • soft stress balls and big, lightweight balls • beanbags • dolls (of colour) • crayons (the fat kind, for little hands) • educational toys • baby rattles, shakers, squeaky toys (auditory/noisy toys) • texture and sensory balls/toys (visit Crazy Store/R5 Shop) • soft toys suitable for teething babies • knob puzzles • soft blocks and building blocks • hardcover/board books ELRU's Family and Community Motivator (FCM) home visiting programme teaches caregivers the value of each toy for each age and stage of a child's development. Because children start learning from the time they are born, toys are vital for holistic development and optimal growth. Please help ELRU by donating toys and resources so that we can give vulnerable children a headstart in life. For a full wish list of goods we need or if looking for a great cause to support this Mandela Day, please email carolyn@elru.co.za. Our toy collection is ongoing.
