How can you help?

Help Great Girls Trust with 50 volunteers for conducting mock interviews with Grade 11 and 12 girls

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

We are looking for volunteers to participate in our Interview Day on 13 September 2025 from 9am to 2pm. Over the course of the Great Girls programme, our girls learn about CV preparation, applying for work and further studies, communication skills and how to ace a job interview. The Interview Day provides them with a fantastic opportunity to practice all their newly learnt skills and gain confidence. As a volunteer, you will be required to conduct 5 x 20min mock interviews over the course of the morning, complete a short feedback form for each girl and provide general feedback about the day in a group setting. No particular skills or qualifications are required - your job is simply to enable our girls to practice talking about themselves, their plans, strengths and weaknesses with a stranger.

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
