More about Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital

Based on the outskirts of Johannesburg, we are a veterinary hospital and wildlife rehabilitation centre solely dedicated to the treatment of wildlife. Our focus is to improve the quality of treatment, survival rate and the successful rehabilitation of small to medium sized species indigenous to South Africa. Our facility pioneers the combination of veterinary treatment and rehabilitation and is the first hospital in South Africa to do so. Our vision is to develop our hospital into a world class facility which will serve as a teaching hospital for veterinary students and other professionals. We treat wildlife with the final goal being full rehabilitation and successful release back into suitable habitat. The wildlife we treat is not owned and comes to us as a result of human/wildlife conflict, disaster, poisonings, illegal trade and poaching confiscations.
