Gloobal Youth Service Day
In response to the worlds’ largest campaign Inkwenkwezi Youth sponsored by Action Aid South Africa, Plascon, Build it and Buco inspired hope to the children of Zamuxolo Educare Centre.
On the 25th of April 2018, the Prudhoe community youth mobilized The Amazizi High School learners to paint Zamuxolo Educare centre at Prudhoe community - Peddie. The Amazizi High School at the request of Inkwenkwezi Youth released fifty (50) learners to be part of the campaign, 25 of whom females and 25 males. The youth selflessly volunteered their time rendering a service to children of Zamuxolo Educare centre without whom their learning conditions would not have substantially improved. Further, this was done in line with Early Childhood Development universal access for all children and to fulfill SDG 4 inclusive and equitable quality education, and SDG 3 both these goals for 2030 sustainable development agenda are echoed by the National Development Plan (NDP). The Zamuxolo Educare Centre was not conducive to learning nor meet standards for Early Childhood Development set out by universal access for all children. Miss Mandarha, Manager, at Zamuxolo Educare Centre expressed a heartfelt gratitude at the service rendered to the facility by Action Aid and Inkwenkwezi Youth. She went on to say: ‘now that it is winter the children will stop attending because the facility is without stoves, heaters and utensils to provide a warm and healthy meal for the children, proper roofing and ceiling’.
